Volunteer Your Time
We need volunteers who are willing to use their experience, strength and hope to help the suffering alcoholic
begin the recovery process. Also, we act as a information center for people searching for meetings in our HMB area or
in other worldwide locations. We have contact information for, almost, any country in the civilized world.
Our volunteers answer phones and provide the traveler with this information to keep them in in touch with AA wherever they
might go.
We need people on the 11am to 3pm shift and the 3pm to 7pm shift to answer phones at the Central Office at 575
Broadway, Menands, NY. Also, we need "Night Owls" to man the phones from 7pm this day to 11am next day.
These are people who volunteer in their own homes to take calls from people in need of information or help. These calls
are transfered to the Night Owl when the office is closed at 7pm. The next day, the on duty volunteer will transfer
the phone back to the Central Office at 11am.
Please call 463-0906 ask the volunteer to put your name on the list of potential volunteers for day or night
duty. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you with more information. Also, training is provided for any
position that you decide to work in.
